A Warm Viking Home in the Frozen North
Icehorn Longhouse is a 1,694-piece Viking building set designed for adult builders, Nordic-history fans, and collectors of detailed winter scenes. The model combines a traditional longhouse, snowy terrain, a waterside dock, a removable Viking longship, illuminated interiors, hidden storage, and an intimate family story.
With 57 printed elements, eight integrated light points, accessible modular sections, original characters, a loyal dog, and ice-fishing accessories, the completed model recreates both the harsh beauty and warmth of life in a northern settlement.
The Homecoming at Icehorn
After a long voyage through freezing seas, Halgar finally sees the lights of Icehorn Longhouse glowing across the snow.
Iriel waits beside the hearth while their loyal dog races toward the returning boat. Outside, the lake has frozen around the dock, but life inside the longhouse continues—food is prepared, fishing equipment is repaired, and stories from distant shores are shared beside the fire.
The treasure Halgar carries is important, but the true reward of the journey is returning to the warmth of home.
Traditional Nordic Longhouse
The snow-covered roof, timber-style walls, tribal decorations, dock, shields, and winter landscape are inspired by the architecture and daily life of a northern coastal settlement.
The long, low structure creates the appearance of a communal hall designed to withstand severe winter weather.
57 Printed Elements
The set includes 57 printed elements featuring Nordic symbols, shields, tribal patterns, decorative details, and environmental markings.
These printed components reduce reliance on stickers while adding visual depth and cultural character throughout the building.
Quick-Access Modular Design
The dual-section structure allows the longhouse to be opened for easier exploration of the interior.
Pull the handle to reveal the hidden treasure area, open the main hall to view the living space, and remove the roof to access the concealed battery compartment.
Removable Viking Longship
The included longship features a fabric sail and can be removed from the waterside scene for independent display.
Position it at the dock as Halgar returns home or display it separately as a small Viking exploration vessel.
Winter Life and Ice Fishing
The included fishing rod, dog, dock, frozen water, household accessories, and character details recreate quiet moments of daily Viking life.
The scene can represent a fishing trip, preparation for another voyage, or a peaceful evening beside the hearth after returning from the sea.
Eight Integrated Light Points
Eight lighting points illuminate the longhouse while concealed wiring keeps the finished presentation clean.
When switched on, the warm interior glow contrasts with the snowy landscape. When switched off, the model retains the quiet appearance of a frozen northern village.
Treasure Map Fragment
The set includes a fragment of the Continent of Gridera Treasure Map, linking the Viking settlement with the wider IAMBRICK fantasy world and its continuing treasure-hunting story.

This set is branded iambrick, a company that I’m familiar with. I’ve built a handful of their sets and have always enjoyed them. Their brick quality is very good (I believe they source from GoBricks) and the package is typically a premium presentation. This set continues their move forward on multiple theme fronts, this time a Viking/medieval theme that includes their own figure designs. I appreciate the snow colored base layer accomplished with not just white but light bluish-gray and clear plates. Snow on the thatched roof also breaks up the otherwise monotone of brown that is so prevalent on medieval sets. The red and white boat sail is a fabric piece, and the decorations are printed parts (not stickers). There is a custom light kit included, which has many unique lighted elements that you’re more likely to see in a Lumibricks set than from iambrick. The light is powered by AA (or AAA?) batteries (BYO). There is also a full interior to maximize the play value. The parts come in numbered bags and are compatible with Lego. The instructions come in a matte-cover perfect-bound book with good color printing and should be easy enough for most builders to follow. There are detailed instructions for how to route the wires, so take your time there if you are new to building with lights. At nearly 1700 pieces this is a very good value for a lighted set with a fantastic model design.
This is a very complicated building set with over 1600 pieces. The set is high quality, and the instructions are easy to follow but not simple. You need to get the pieces exactly right at the very beginning to make sure that the house will come together evenly at the end.
This set comes with two Vikings that will complete the package. The addition of a Nordic ship adds character to the build.
The instructions list with bag that you should be pulling from however the part maybe in bag 3 not one when start...for example bags are listed as 1-1.1-2.1-3. When you are following the instructions for the beginning build not all of the parts will be in 1-1 some may be in bag 1-3.
The colors of the blocks are what you would imagine them to be. I think the base of the house could use a more realistic touch because once completed it just looks like white bricks while the rest of the build fits more into the theme and seems seamless. The details of the house and internal rooms are impressive.
The blocks functional as they should but the lights to connect them seemed impossible. We tried to follow the instructions to attach the lighting aspect of the build, but we could not get them to work. The connections are too small. The lights use three AAA batteries that are not included.
This is definitely not a child's build. The price for this set is price comparatively as other of the similar type for viking building sets.
I LOVE the theming of this set. The snowy Viking longhouse, little dock and striped longship all work together beautifully, and there are so many small details that give the finished model personality.
The architecture is especially cool. I love the steep snow-covered roofs, shields, horns, carved-looking decorative pieces and warm lighting inside the cabin. The Viking minifigures are a fun addition and help make the whole scene feel alive.
At 1,694 pieces, this is a substantial build with plenty to keep me occupied. I enjoy sets that feel like I'm gradually constructing an entire little environment rather than just a single building, and this definitely delivers that experience.
The lights are a great finishing touch. Against all of the snow and dark brown pieces, the illuminated windows give the cabin a cozy glow that looks fantastic on display.
This is such a fun set for anyone who enjoys medieval or Viking-inspired builds. The longship parked beside the snowy longhouse really completes the scene for me.
The set was really fun to build! The bricks are really good quality, no stickers(ask the detailed parts are printed!), and the instructions are really easy to follow. The size actually surprised me, but if turned out prefect! A really detailed, fun build that looks great and had a ton on pieces!

This was a fun but difficult build. It is a fairly large set and does take up a lot of room. It isn't official Lego but the bricks are compatible and seem to be similar in quality. The two minifigs aren't anything like the Lego minifigs so if you are going to put it in a Lego village you probably would want to get different minifigs. It is extremely detailed and looks amazing. The instructions are really good and easy to follow. It also has a story line you follow as you put it together. It does come with a lighting kit and it does look good but isn't the easiest to install. Also I had to change how they have you installed the battery pack because if you do it the way they instructed you they you can't turn on or off the lights. They tell you to put it in the upstairs part and then brick it all the way up. I put it there and then used some of my own parts to make a space to be able to flip the switch. Also the little boat that comes with it is dinky and the sail doesn't look that great. Overall I did enjoy this set and for the price it is a good buy.
The set comes split into 7 stages, each with 2-3 labeled bags, and all the parts are pretty good quality - at least, I didn't see any warping or melted pieces, and while none of the connections were too tight, there were a few that were a little loose - the cylinder pieces specifically could come apart a bit too easily. The plates are flat and besides a little bag with the sail and 2 cloaks, you also get a LED lighting kit and naturally, the instructions.
Unfortunately, the set was missing 2 pieces. One had a mirror version of the piece left over - and I triple checked that I hadn't made a mistake - and it turned out this was fine because it was just a cosmetic piece and it worked fine. The other was a small rod for the top of the ship and there was no replacement.
Luckily, I did have a spare grey rod from another kit so I used that, but it looked different, obviously.
Speaking of the instructions, they're okay. Generally they cover a small number of pieces per step and often provide whole-page pictures to show you exactly where they go, and there's little to no ambiguity. They go out of their way to distinguish between the 3 browns with a little key showing that dark brown is shown as black with a white outline. ... however, they don't do a great job outlining and sometimes these pieces are just displayed as brown blobs. There are also black pieces that are not distinguishable from these "dark brown" and small round flat cap pieces with log-end details on them and it's nearly impossible to tell when you're meant to use them vs the plain ones.
On the other hand, it was pretty good about placing the LEDs and showed exactly how and where to route the wires, which was awesome.
The instruction manual also has a sort of mini story woven throughout and I thought that was a nice touch, though it did read like an AI generated story somehow. Perhaps I'm wrong, no way to know.
The build itself was good. Part picking was easy because the pieces were spread out among the different stages and even though many looked alike, it wasn't too bad other than paying attention to the part color. It only took about 6 hours to put it all together, though I did break it up into 2 separate days.
That being said, a very small number of the pieces were a bit tricky - rods that made up the roof peak often fell off, along with the roof panels themselves that were attached with hinged parts. There are even some pieces that sort of overhang two sides of a roof and those ... just don't fit great. They're on that aforementioned roof rod so things kept falling apart here over and over.
The finished product is quite swell. You've got the house, 2 swollen-head minifigs with some pretty good articulation, a dog, a boat that doesn't quite fit the same scale as the big head guys who - I'm just realizing, might have problems making it indoors. There's also some walls that were made easy to remove so you can see the treasure and equipment rooms, and if you pop off one of the roof segments you can flip a switch to turn on the lights, which look great and made my wife covetous of the kit, though she said to keep the minifigs which were apparently "creepy".
IAMBRICKS/BRIXELION continues to be one of my favorite go-to brands for brick-building sets.
The company consistently delivers creative themes, excellent instruction manuals, impressive display value, and a building experience that feels thoughtfully engineered from beginning to end. This 1,694-piece Icehorn Longhouse is another outstanding example.
The completed model is visually stunning. The snow-covered roofs, Viking shields, horns, dock, longship, fabric sail, minifigures, and Nordic architectural details create a convincing frozen settlement with a wonderful fantasy atmosphere. It looks impressive from every angle and has enough depth and texture that you continue discovering small details after the build is finished.
One feature I particularly appreciated was the use of top-down views in the instruction manual. Think of them as drone shots showing exactly where assemblies must be positioned. These overhead illustrations were extremely helpful when aligning larger sections and determining the correct placement of pieces. More building-set manufacturers should use this approach!
The manual is excellent overall. It clearly distinguishes similar colors, especially light brown and dark brown. Dark brown pieces are shown with a white silhouette border, making them much easier to identify.
The set is divided into seven manageable building stages, and I had no missing pieces. A few extras were included.
The printed pieces are another major highlight. There are no stickers to apply. The Nordic patterns, shields, decorative roof borders, and other details are beautifully pad printed and give the completed model a much more premium appearance.
The included story and lore were also a thoughtful surprise. The Icehorn Longhouse narrative, including “The Return to the Icehorn Longhouse,” adds personality and creates the mood before and after the build. It gives the model a genuine fantasy-world identity rather than making it feel like just another cabin.
This is not a set I would recommend for young children. I would consider it appropriate for approximately age 13 and older, depending on experience. The roof assemblies require patience and careful alignment. A slight misalignment while installing one of the larger roof sections can cause surrounding pieces to separate. Once completed and properly positioned, however, the layered snowy roof design looks terrific.
My biggest criticism involves the LED lighting system. The lights work beautifully and add tremendous atmosphere, especially in a darker room. The wiring is cleverly hidden, and the finished effect is very impressive. The battery box requires three AAA batteries, which are not included, and is stored inside the second level, no big deal. However, the manual describes the roof as having a “quick-release design” that allows you to lift it for access to the battery compartment. Seriously? I cannot consider this a practical quick-release system. The roof sections are among the most fragile parts of the entire model. Repeatedly lifting and reinstalling them simply to turn the lights on or off creates a real risk of pieces coming apart.
Feedback: A vertically mounted battery box and switch on the back of the longhouse would have been far easier to access and much less disruptive.
Even with this design issue, this is an exceptional set. At approximately $90—or around $75 with the available coupon—it offers terrific value for the piece count, printed elements, lighting kit, longship, minifigures, instruction quality, and overall presentation.
Final thoughts...
✔️ Spectacular Viking longhouse design with an impressive frozen Nordic setting.
✔️ Excellent instruction manual with extremely helpful top-down views.
✔️ Beautiful pad-printed details with no stickers required.
✔️ Rewarding seven-stage build with no missing pieces and several extras.
✔️ Included LED lighting kit, longship, minifigures, fabric sail, and thoughtful backstory.
✔️ Excellent display value and LEGO-compatible bricks at a fraction of the price of comparable premium sets.
➖ The battery compartment is painfully difficult to access when turning the LED lights on or off.
➖ The roof assemblies are extremely fragile and require patience, careful alignment, and gentle handling.
⭐️1 star — I don't endorse this at all, poor quality.
⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't endorse it: has multiple faults, or significantly overpriced.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, some compromises, but the quality is acceptable for what it is.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally endorse. Blown away. Drop everything and buy it!
